The African elephant
The African elephant is widely considered to be the largest land animal in the world. It is certainly in the running for being the heaviest land animal as well. They are particularly well-known for their long trunks and prominent tusks, which can grow up to 3 metres long.
Asian Elephant: The Second Largest Land Animal
They boast impressive tusks, with male tusks weighing up to 80 kilos combined! Asian elephants are smaller than African elephants, measuring 2-3 metres tall at most. They can be found throughout South Asia and Southeast Asia in various habitats.
